You will start your drive from Dehradun to reach Chakrata. The drive will take up to 3.5 hrs from Dehradun. Check into the camp & have lunch and rest for some time. Set in terrace fields, the camp has fabulous views all around. Mussoorie is right in front and the Yamuna valley down below. Today we will go for a trek (2-2.5hrs) from the camp itself. The trek starts from the Viraatkhai camp and climbs to a mountain top called Julkha Ka Danda offering great views of the Himalayas in the North and beautiful Yamuna Valley in the south. The trail continues on the ridge and takes you to the vantage point Jhulkiya Danda from where you witness a high range of Himalayas, including Black Peak, Swargarohini & many more. Later descends to a forest leading to Nagthat, where the vehicle awaits for you. We will drive down to the campsite for an evening hot cup of tea. Overnight at Chakrata.

After having breakfast, we will start our drive up to Pantwari village, the starting point of the trek. From Pantwari we will start our trek for Thath, where we will camp for the night. The trail today is reasonably steep and will take us about 3 - 4 hrs to cover it, moving at a leisurely pace. The trail will pass through villages & open valley to reach Thath. Overnight at Thath

After an early breakfast, we will hike up to Nag Tibba Top (3050 mts). You will get to see the famous Swargarohini, Bandarpoonch, Neelkanth, Black peak, and many more peaks from here. From Thath in the beginning you pass through forests and meadows to reach the Nag Tibba Top. After spending some time at this vantage point you will head back to your second camping site which is at Nagtibba base. Enjoy a sumptuous meal around a bonfire, under the star-spangled sky, and retire for the day. Overnight at Nagtibba base camp

After breakfast pack up the camp and start walking down towards Teva Gaon. You will stop en route for lunch. The return trek will take us about 4.5 hrs. Today’s hike is of 8-9 kms but totally downhill. Views are totally in contrast with the previous day. We will walk through thick jungles to reach scenically located Teva gaon. Here one can take a refreshing dip in the river flowing by. After reaching Teva, head back to Dehradun. The trip ends here !!

ABOUT THE TREK

This is a wonderful & easily accessible circular trekking trail that can be done within four days. The unique thing about the trek is the easy accessibility of the start & finish point. Even though the trek is easily accessible it does not compromise on the quality of outdoors at any point. This is a total wilderness trip with sparse habitation and rich flora all around.

On this 4 day trip, you will spend a day in Chakrata which can be reached within a short drive of 3 hrs from Dehradun. Apart from having a great location, it is an excellent base for small & long day hikes. After spending an exciting day at Chakrata the next day you drive to Pantwari, the starting point for the trek. The next three and a half days will be spent hiking through a varied landscape. Day 1 on the trek is when you exert as you climb up to reach Thath. The next day we will go to the vantage point of Nagtibba. This day you will savor every moment. There are uninterrupted views of the snow-clad Himalayan ranges from the top. Also, the meadows with thick forest all around is a great place to camp on. Last day of the trek you again walk through a very different or contrasting landscape to reach Devalsari and then Teva gaon. Taking a refreshing dip in the river here would be the ideal way to end this great trip. There are some really good extension options for you if you were to extend your trip.
