ABOUT THE TREK

Wandering through one of the biggest alpine meadows in the Garhwal Himalayas, this trek will give you a series of brilliant panoramas of the greater Himalayan ranges, pulling you towards them. At an altitude of 3048m above sea level, these slopes at Dayara, transform into a perfect ground for class A skiing, during winters, as the snow takes over. For this trip though, you will be walking through a series of unending lush green, high altitude meadows (also called Bugyal in the local Garhwali language), which run parallel to a progression of high peaks of the Garhwal Himalayas. En-route you will hike to an alpine lake near Barnala bugyal. For height gain, you will hike to a vantage point called Bakriya Top from where you will see famous peaks of, Kalanag or Black Peak(6387m), Bandar Poonch (6316m), Jaonli(6600m), The Gangotri Massif I II and III, Draupadi Ka Danda, as well as many other unclimbed virgin peaks.

Exploring a dense forest filled with different shades of red and green, you will climb above the tree line of, oaks and rhododendrons, and reach the open pasture lands of Dayara Bugyal. Most of the hike is moderate except few sections, where the gradient becomes a bit steep. All the fatigue is gone once you sit in front of a fire, as you camp for the night at the meadows. From, sleeping under the Milkyway; to walking along the ridges parallel to some Greater Himalayan peaks, we assure this trek will give you strong hit of wonder and surprise
