Today we arrive in Haridwar/Rishikesh and check into our hotel. In the evening, we witness the grand Ganga Aarti on the banks of the River Ganga. We also take a dip in the holy water and pray for a safe & memorable pilgrimage. Overnight in the hotel.

We make an early start to the day and begin the pilgrimage with a drive towards Barkot. On the way, we stop at Yamuna Bridge for a Yamuna darshan and then continue to Barkot. In the evening we visit some temples near Barkot and get an early sleep before tomorrow’s visit to Yamunotri. Overnight in the hotel

We begin the day early with a drive through Syanachatti and Hanumanchatti before reaching Jankichatti, where the road ends. From Jankichatti we begin the journey on foot/mule/palki/kandi to Yamunotri on meandering route viaa rich forest of conifer, rhododendron & several species of Himalayan shrubs. On reaching Yamunotri, you will see  several hot springs which dot the place and here rice and potatoes are dipped into the hot water in a muslin cloth and taken home as Prasad.  We return to Jankichatti via the same route and from here drive back to Barkot to our hotel. We will also visit the temples in Kharsali, the winter seat of Yamunotri. This place is also celebrated for the Someshwar Temple, known for its unique wooden architecture. Overnight stay in a hotel.

We start the drive to Uttarkashi and make a brief stop Rari-ka-Danda, to take a take a refreshing break amidst the pine forest. We continue our drive via Dharasu and Dunda (a tribal Village whose inhabitants are a mix of Hindu & Buddhist followers). Further ahead we cross Nakuri village, home of celebrated Lady Mountaineer, Ms. Bachendri Pal (First Indian lady to have summited Mount Everest). Finally, we reach Uttarkashi, the “Kashi” of the North situated on the banks of the Bhagirathi River known for its umpteen temples. We will attend the aarti in the famous Kashi Vishwanath Temple and visit some of the ashrams and other temples that dot this beautiful landscape. Overnight stay in a hotel.

An early start for the 100 kms drive to Gangotri where we pass through Ganganani, a peaceful village known for its ancient hot water springs. Further we drive to Sukhi top, from where one can get a lofty view of the snow-clad Himalayas. Driving through Jhala we reach Harsil, a beautiful village surrounded by dense Deodar forests and known for its apple orchards. Moving ahead we cross one of the highest motorable bridge, built over Jahnvi river.  On the other side of the bridge is Bhaironghati, known for temple of Bhairava, the gatekeeper of Shiva.  A further drive of 10 kms get us to Gangotri. After spending some time at the temple, we return to Uttarkashi the same day. Overnight stay in a hotel.

Today we drive from Uttarakashi to Kund. On the way we will stopover at Chirbatia from where one can enjoy the expansive views of Himalayas. Further we drive to Kund. Once in Kund relax in the scenic surroundings by the River Mandakini. Overnight in the Verdant Valley, Kund.

Early morning, we drive 45 mins to Phata and from there fly to Kedarnath. Visit the temple and its famous surroundings and return flight to Phata. After your visit to Kedarnath, fly back to Phata. From Phata, drive back to the mountain lodge in Kund for the night. Overnight in the Verdant Valley, Kund.

Today we visit the famous temples of Guptkashi, Narayankoti temple complex, Kalimath and others. This is also a reserve day in case the helicopter schedule was disrupted for any reason. Overnight in the hotel.

Post breakfast we begin the drive to Auli. Enroute, stopover at Chopta and here enjoy for some time in the bugyals (high altitude meadows) and have a picnic lunch. You also get wonderful views of the snow-clad Himalayan peaks from here. If the whole group is interested, we can also trek up to the Tungnath temple (the highest Shiva shrine in the world). The trekking time will be about 3-4 hrs. We continue the journey from Chopta and visit the Gopinath temple at Gopeshwar and Narsing Devta temple (the winter seat of Lord Badrinath)in Joshimath. Before reaching Joshimath we pass through Pipalkoti where the celebrated poet, Kalidasa, composed Meghadoot. A little ahead of Pipalkoti lies Garurganga where Lord Vishnu left his carrier, Garuda. We reach the beautiful mountain lodge, Himalayan High in Auli for overnight stay.

 

Today we make an early start and drive up to Badrinath. At Badrinath, we pay our respects at the temple and later head to Bhimpul, a rock bridge over the gushing waters of the river. We also visit Mana, for some local handicrafts and handmade woollens. We return to Auli in the evening for overnight stay in Himalayan High.

Today, post breakfast we will drive to Joshimath from where the 12 Kms cable car ride begins. This ride will take you up the marvellous slopes of Auli, which are covered in snow during winters. Enjoy the views from here and then begin the ride down to Jayalgarh. We visit some of the Panch Prayags and drive along the Alaknanda most of the way. We reach the beautiful riverside camp at Jayalgarh on the banks of the River Alaknanda. In the evening, there will be a special puja on the banks of the river for our guests. Overnight in the camp.

Early morning, we take a short boat ride in the river and guests can also take a dip in the river. Post breakfast depart for Haridwar. TRIP ENDS HERE.
