ABOUT THE TREK

This is a probably the finest weekend trek in the country. The starting point of the trek and the finishing point are easily accessible and very close to Dehradun, which in turn is very well connected with other parts of the country. So close, yet one can reach an altitude of more than 3000 mts and hike in an absolutely remote region with almost no habitation. Another great attraction of this trip would be staying in Chakrata (Viratkhai) for a night.

On this 4 day trip you will you will spend one day in Chakrata & rest of the day on the trek. After spending an exciting day at Chakrata the next day you drive to Pantwari, starting point for the trek. Next three and a half days will be spent hiking through a varied landscape. There are uninterrupted views of the snow clad Himalayan ranges from the top. Also the meadows with thick forest all around is a great place to camp on. Last day of the trek you again walk through a very different or contrasting landscape to reach again to Pantwari. There are some really good extension options for you if you were to extend your trip.
