This trip gives you the chance to have your fill of white water and get the fill in stunning surroundings. The trip takes you on one of the most revered rivers in the Indian Himalayas – Alaknanda, and better still to its upper stretches where you have wild rapids and changing landscape in terms of gorges, forests, etc. The trip takes you through a number of Class III rapids and quite a few Class IV to IV+ rapids including the famed Hillary Fall and Kakkar Fall.

The upper stretches of the Brahmaputra is in some of the remotest locations of India in Arunachal Pradesh where we would start the trip. This river flows originates from the glaciers in Tibet before entering India and then gushes down the Himalayan countryside before entering the plains. During its course through the Himalayas, it provides some stunning opportunities for white water rafting with large stretches of Class III and IV rapids with the occasional Class IV+ rapid.

The camp is located on a sandy beach on the banks of the River Ganges at Kaudiyala. The camp has basic but comfortable facilities in Swiss tents keeping in line with eco-tourism policies that are in effect in this region. There is a hygienic sanitation area in the camp with dry pit toilets and separate shower tents. Fresh and nutritious food is prepared in the camp itself and is served in a dining area bang on the riverside.

This area can be approached through Manali (13/14 hrs drive) or you can go on a jeep safari starting from Shimla and enter Spiti after visiting Sarahan, Sangla, etc. in the Kinnaur valley (5/6 days drive).
